Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Provide coaching, training, and day‑to‑day guidance to the finance and administration team, ensuring accountability and professional development
- Payroll & Benefits Administration – Oversee payroll processing, verify annual leave and overtime, and manage salary‑related matters in compliance with PNG Labour Law
- Financial Controls – Maintain accurate cashflow updates, journal entries, and financial documentation; ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Compliance & Reporting – Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities to meet statutory filing and reporting requirements
- ERP & Systems Management – Execute digital banking transactions, review intercompany invoices in CW1, and ensure timely closure of financial files
- Process Improvement – Advise management on workflow optimization, operational efficiencies, and business improvement opportunities
- Contractual & Administrative Oversight – Monitor and manage payments related to leases, maintenance contracts, and equipment rentals, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
- Facilities & Administration – Coordinate facilities management activities and oversee related administrative services
- Internal Controls – Safeguard company assets by enforcing authorization limits, governance requirements, and adherence to safe work practices
- Stakeholder Engagement – Support management decision‑making by interpreting financial data and providing operational insights
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- At least 8–10 years of finance and administration experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of PNG Labour Law, tax compliance, and payroll administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (CargoWise One preferred)
- Excellent communication skills in English; Tok Pisin desirable
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
Ideal:
- CPA PNG or equivalent professional certification
- Experience in project cargo or logistics industry finance operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, implement process improvements, and manage complex financial reporting
- Exposure to international banking and overseas payment processes
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
