Overview

The Assistant Director, Center Operations plays a vital leadership role in the success of Precious Jewels Christian Childcare and is responsible for the operational and administrative backbone of the center. This position works closely with the Executive Director & External Consultants to ensures that logistics, local and state licensing compliance, overall staffing coordination, and family communications are handled efficiently and professionally. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, systems-minded, and solution-oriented—supporting the Center Director in ensuring daily operations run seamlessly to achieve our growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operational logistics including classroom ratios, staffing schedules, and facility readiness.

Manage center records including child enrollment, staff documentation, incident reports, and attendance.

Ensure compliance with all local and state licensing requirements, health codes, and safety regulations.

Coordinate annual inspections, staff certifications, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Monitor supply inventory and coordinate procurement for classrooms, kitchen, and admin needs.

Onboard new hires and ensure all personnel files and training requirements are up to date.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Childcare Services & Curriculum on staffing assignments aligned with classroom needs and qualifications.

Monitor the condition of the building and playground to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs are addressed promptly.

Lead emergency preparedness efforts including drills, protocols, and staff readiness.

Serve as the center’s point person for vendor services and facility upkeep.

Serve as the first point of contact for administrative questions from parents (billing, enrollment, scheduling).

Maintain a welcoming and organized front office presence.

Assist in planning and coordinating family-facing events and center communications.

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Early Childhood Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in childcare operations, administration, or center coordination, or similar role

Knowledge of state childcare licensing standards and operational best practices.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Tech-savvy with experience using childcare management software (preferred).

CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain).

Commitment to Christian values and mission-centered leadership.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour
