Role Description The Cashier is a full-time, on-site role based in Iskandar Puteri, responsible for managing daily financial transactions for the Islamic Society – UoSM. This includes processing payments for events, merchandise, and donations, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records of cash and electronic transactions. The role involves balancing cash drawers, preparing simple financial summaries, and coordinating with committee members on budgeting and expense tracking. The Cashier will also support event operations by setting up payment points, responding to member inquiries about fees or payments, and following established financial procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
Qualifications

  • Ability to handle cash and electronic payments accurately, including balancing cash drawers and reconciling daily transactions.
  • Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail in tracking expenses, income, and receipts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple transaction points during events and busy periods.
  • Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems, spreadsheets, or simple accounting software is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to the society’s financial guidelines and university policies.
  • Previous experience in a cashier, customer service, or administrative support role is beneficial.
  • Availability to work on campus during events and peak activity times, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
