The George Gordon First Nation is seeking a motivated and professional individual to work with the Treaty Status people residing on the George Gordon First Nation. This position is for the Labour Force Development & Pre‑Employment Support Programs to assist clients to move forward in life through training and employment development. The Client Case Worker will work under the direction of the LFD/PES Coordinator and will be responsible for maintaining administration functions, and client case worker duties.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, greeting clients and visitors, receiving calls, entering data, filing, processing mail, drafting correspondence, arranging meetings, recording minutes, preparing funding requests and proposals and working on an individual basis with clients through the client case management process.
Qualifications
- Business administration diploma OR a Grade 12 Diploma or GED and previous client case worker or employment counselling experience.
- Strong knowledge of administrative and financial regulations and procedures.
- Experience using various computer programs including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write and format moderately complex correspondence.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Strong client service skills and professionalism.
- Superior time management, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and coordinating skills.
- Public speaking abilities to effectively facilitate presentations to large groups for information sessions, resume preparation, and other related employment engagement activities.
- Ability to develop and maintain basic databases and filing systems.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of First Nations values, culture, traditions, and governance.
- Possess valid driver license and reliable vehicle.
- Must provide a clear CPIC.
- The ability to go out into the communities and various places to attend meetings and events.
- Ability to work, meet, and engage with other working groups such as career fair committee, employment & training focus groups, but not limited to.
- Able to occasionally lift items as heavy as 50 lbs.
- Ability to deal with irate/difficult people.
Salary based on work experience, training, and education.
