Hours:

Full Time – 37 hours per week including overtime.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and execute council-sponsored events such as festivals, public meetings, and cultural activities.

* Develop event concepts, timelines, and budgets in

collaboration

with relevant departments.

* Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, permits, and on-site management.

* Organise ceremonies and functions.

* Ensure all events are executed with appropriate protocol and decorum.

* Liaise with the Business Support Manager and key stakeholders to ensure their participation and engagement.

* Promote events and encourage public participation.

* Develop and maintain positive relationships with community groups, and local organisations.

* Gather feedback to continuously improve event offerings and engagement strategies.

* Create and distribute promotional materials for events, including press releases, social media posts, and newsletters.

* Maintain an

up-to-date

events calendar and to ensure timely updates on the website and other platforms.

* Prepare and manage budgets for events, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.

* Monitor expenditures and provide regular financial reports.

* Ensure accurate record-keeping and follow-up on action items from meetings.

* Provide administrative support.

Requirements and

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in event planning and management.

* Strong organisational and

project management

skills.

* Excellent

communication

and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.

* Relevant certifications in event management or public administration (desirable)
