About the Opportunity:

With deep experience in complex transactions and litigation matters, and offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and New York, this is an amazing opportunity for an intermediate Legal Administrative Assistant to join a highly credited Big Law firm. The role involves supporting their corporate department. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday through Friday for someone who is detail oriented and able to work well both independently and within a

team environment

About the Position:

As a Legal Administrative Assistant, your duties include:

Accurately proofreading, formatting, drafting and assisting with various legal and general materials, including documents, spreadsheets, reports, memos, presentations, forms and other items, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with legal processes.

File maintenance including opening and closing files, completing “Know Your Client” forms, maintaining file lists.

Practice management including managing calendars, coordinating meetings and preparing expenses.

Entering dockets, billings, preparation of invoices and account letters.

Preparing cheque requisitions and trust deposits/withdrawals.

Keeping client contact information up to date.

Liaising with lawyers, clients, external agencies and other stakeholders on various matters.

Requirements:

Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution required.

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a law firm environment supporting a busy corporate practice.

Understanding of procedures and terminology for corporate transactions.

Experience in Real Estate and Securities is an asset

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.

Ability to handle confidential and non-routine information with discretion and professionalism.

Excellent proofreading and grammar skills.

Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

Compensation:

Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)

3 weeks’ vacation

Flexible hybrid working arrangements post probation (3 months)
