Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, verify, and process all import customs clearance documentation for shipments into Indonesia, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, import licenses (API), certificates, and other supporting documents, ensuring complete accuracy and compliance with Indonesian Customs regulations.
- Ensure consistency between shipping documents and cargo details while preventing customs clearance delays caused by incomplete or inaccurate documentation.
- Prepare and submit customs declarations through the Indonesian Electronic Customs Declaration System (e-CD / BC 2.2), ensuring all declaration data is accurate, complete, and submitted within the required timelines.
- Maintain strict compliance with Indonesian Customs regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures throughout the customs documentation process.
- Work closely with the Customs Manager to organize, archive, retrieve, and maintain customs documentation records and audit trails for internal and external compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely submission of customs documentation and resolve any documentation-related issues affecting customs clearance.
- Monitor documentation status and proactively identify discrepancies, escalating issues promptly to minimize shipment delays, cargo holds, penalties, or compliance risks.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while ensuring efficient document control and regulatory compliance.
- Support customs audits, compliance reviews, and continuous process improvements related to import documentation.
- Candidates with experience supporting Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) compliance, customs certification, or trade compliance programs will be highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Indonesian citizen with a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Customs Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Indonesian import customs documentation, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international trade operations.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian Customs regulations, import documentation requirements, and customs clearance procedures.
- Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and processing customs documentation using the Indonesian Electronic Customs Declaration System (e-CD / BC 2.2) or similar customs systems.
- Experience working with AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) programs, customs compliance, trade compliance, or certified import/export operations is highly desirable.
- With a good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and documentation deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- High level of integrity with no criminal or regulatory violations.
