About The Role
The Data Analyst II, Research Admin & Operations, is a critical role within Boston University’s IS&T department, responsible for supporting research administration systems and ensuring seamless data management. This position involves participating in a significant migration project, transitioning research compliance and grant management systems from the legacy Kuali platform to the Huron Research Suite. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and maintaining system integrations, supporting data migration activities, and providing functional support to research administration modules such as IACUC, AOps, and COI. This is a full-time, two-year term position with hybrid and remote work options, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the university’s research infrastructure and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data analysis, system integration, or research administration support
- Experience with system integrations, APIs, ETL tools, and batch processing
- Proven expertise in data migration, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation
- Familiarity with research administration platforms such as Huron Research Suite preferred
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and functional stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integration jobs between Huron modules and other university systems to ensure data consistency and operational efficiency
- Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize APIs, ETL processes, and batch jobs for seamless data flow across platforms
- Monitor integration performance, implement error handling, and log system activities to ensure stability and reliability
- Provide functional support for Huron Research Suite modules, assisting end-users with workflows, troubleshooting, and system navigation
- Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support team knowledge base and operational continuity
- Assist in data migration activities, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data integrity during system transitions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration requirements and execute test migrations, troubleshooting issues during cutover and post-migration phases
- Participate in system upgrades, module implementations, and regression testing to ensure optimal system performance
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
