The Director of Hospitality and Catering Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all hospitality-related functions on campus, including event planning, catering, guest services, and conference management. This role ensures exceptional service delivery for university events, enhances the campus experience for visitors and stakeholders, and supports institutional goals through effective resource management and collaboration across departments.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of hospitality, catering, and event professionals to deliver high-quality services.
Establish service standards and continuously improve guest satisfaction.
Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of campus events including conferences, receptions, ceremonies, and special functions.
Collaborate with dining services, facilities, and external vendors to ensure seamless event logistics.
Manage catering operations including menu planning, budgeting, and quality control.
Develop, manage, and monitor hospitality services budgets.
Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facilities related to hospitality.
Serve as the primary point of contact for university departments, external clients, and guests.
Address and resolve service-related issues promptly and professionally.
Build strong partnerships with campus units and external organizations.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate hospitality services staff.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, event management, or related areas, preferably within higher education or large institutions.
Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
