2. About the Opportunity:
The Docketing Specialist role is responsible for accurately monitoring and entering docketing requests and legal deadlines within assigned groups using docketing software. This position ensures that case deadlines are maintained in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines, supporting legal teams by verifying, updating, and reporting on docket information. The role contributes to the organization''s ability to manage complex litigation schedules efficiently and maintain compliance with court procedures.
3. Responsibilities:
• Independently docket deadlines for assigned offices, practice groups, or shared mailboxes.
• Review documents and docketing requests to identify all relevant deadlines.
• Conduct limited research on court and agency websites to verify deadlines.
• Communicate with case teams to obtain necessary information for docket accuracy.
• Verify accuracy of docketed items generated by software.
• Ensure case information and timekeepers are correct.
• Generate and distribute docket reports to case teams.
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries regarding deadlines, rules, and procedures.
• Stay updated on rules and procedure changes within assigned docketing groups.
4. Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of litigation docketing experience using docketing software.
• Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• Strong understanding of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.
• Familiarity with federal and state court systems, arbitration, mediation, and government agencies.
• Proficiency in docketing software, preferably Aderant’s CompuLaw and/or Milana.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn new software applications.
• Experience with PACER and other electronic case filing systems.
• Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with varied professional levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional integrity.
• Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
• Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
