Role Description The Duty Manager is a full-time, on-site position based at Katerina Hotel in Batu Pahat. This role oversees daily hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth front office activities, efficient guest check-in and check-out, and prompt resolution of guest requests and issues. The Duty Manager coordinates with housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and other departments to uphold service standards and room readiness. Responsibilities include monitoring staff performance, supporting team members, handling escalated guest concerns, and maintaining safety and security procedures throughout the property. The role also involves supervising cash handling, preparing shift reports, and assisting with implementation of hotel policies and service improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in hotel operations or hospitality management, preferably in a supervisory or Duty Manager role.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to guide and support front-line staff.
- Excellent guest service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Effective communication skills in English and relevant local languages, with professional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and service quality.
- Basic understanding of front office systems, reservation platforms, and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of safety, security, and emergency procedures within a hotel environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is an advantage; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional, customer-focused attitude and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
