TCCTA STATE OFFICE SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Texas Community College Teachers Association (TCCTA) is seeking an Executive Director to begin onboarding on August 18th, 2025.

ABOUT TCCTA

Founded in 1948, TCCTA is the only professional organization in the U.S. dedicated solely to community college educators. Representing faculty, counselors, librarians, and administrators from over 50 Texas institutions, TCCTA advocates for members, provides legal services, and hosts the state’s largest two-year college conference.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Executive Director is TCCTA’s chief administrative officer, reporting to the Executive Committee. The role is primarily remote but requires residence in the Austin, Texas area and some travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration: Lead day-to-day operations, supervise staff, manage HR and finances, maintain compliance, and implement board directives.

Systems & Technology: Oversee digital tools (Google Workspace, Gusto, Stripe, etc.), maintain system integrity, manage vendors and subscriptions.

Strategic & Public Affairs: Support strategic planning, represent TCCTA in public/legislative forums, track policy developments, and coordinate advocacy efforts.

Supervision Includes:

Legal/referral services

Foundation grants and finance

Event planning and vendor relations

Membership and campus rep coordination

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Experience managing teams and cloud-based administrative systems

Budgeting, compliance, and nonprofit operations expertise

Comfort with public speaking and advocacy

Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit/Education/Business Management, or related field

Experience in Texas community colleges or education associations

Executive leadership in nonprofits or member organizations

Background in governance, strategic planning, and advocacy

Familiarity with association management and member engagement tools

COMPENSATION

Salary: $90,000–$97,500 (based on experience)

State of Texas holidays; vacation/sick leave
