Care For Paws Animal Hospital is seeking a professional, friendly, and experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team.
This position is intended for candidates who have previous experience working at the front desk of a veterinary hospital or animal clinic. General receptionist experience without veterinary experience may not be sufficient for this position.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming telephone calls
- Schedule appointments, surgeries, rechecks, and follow-up visits
- Check clients and patients in and out
- Maintain accurate client and patient information
- Collect payments and explain invoices and estimates
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding appointments, medications, records, and hospital policies
- Request and send veterinary medical records
- Prepare charts, consent forms, and other client documents
- Coordinate communication between clients, technicians, and veterinarians
- Assist with prescription and food requests according to hospital procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Handle multiple tasks professionally in a busy environment
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary receptionist experience is required
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, vaccines, medications, and common hospital procedures
- Excellent telephone, communication, and customer-service skills
- Comfortable discussing estimates and collecting payments
- Strong computer, typing, scheduling, and organizational skills
- Dependable, professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented
- Able to manage challenging situations and communicate calmly with clients
- Availability to work some weekends as scheduled
- Experience using Neo Veterinary Software is required.
Compensation
$18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on veterinary experience, qualifications, abilities, and position responsibilities.
