Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and must excel in customer service, insurance verification, and dental scheduling using OpenDental. This role is essential in supporting our clinical team and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors with a warm, welcoming attitude and assist with check-in/check-out procedures
Manage incoming calls, patient inquiries, and appointment scheduling using OpenDental
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments; accurately enter insurance information into the system
Submit and follow up on pre-authorizations and insurance claims
Collect and post patient co-pays and balances at the time of service
Maintain and organize patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, correspondence, and supply management
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental office is preferred
Proficiency with OpenDental software is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of insurance verification, claims processing, and dental benefit plans
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a patient-first attitude
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment
