A Neurology, Sleep Medicine, and Epilepsy clinic is looking for a people person and reliable Front Office Receptionist in our Austin office. The successful candidate will support clinic operations in delivering patient care. We are looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working independently and directly with people.

Location: Austin, TX 78757

For the first two weeks, the employee would train in the Sugar Land office. (Hotel accommodation, food per diem, and transportation reimbursement to and from Austin covered by the company)

Responsibilities and Duties

The Front Office Medical Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating patient care throughout the clinic: scheduling and confirming appointments, checking in, collecting co-pays and other fees required prior to the office visit or procedure, prepping, escorting patients to clinic rooms, taking vitals, and checking out patients.
  • Working closely with the provider.
  • Answer inquiries by phone, in person, or by email in a helpful, respectful, and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining the front desk and reception areas.
  • Assist providers when requested.
  • Overseeing and maintaining office and medical supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Provide patient care with excellent customer service.
  • Perform all other related clinical and administrative tasks as required.
  • Assist with rooming and taking vital signs of patients
  • Enter patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Scan, file, and organize medical documents
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
  • Process payments and issue receipts
  • Obtain prior authorizations when required
  • Assist with appointment reminders and follow-ups
  • Support medical staff with clerical needs
  • Assist with rooming and taking vital signs of patients (PRN)

Education/Licensure/Certifications

· High School Diploma required. Associates preferred.

· 2+ years Medical Administrative/Office Experience.

· Medical Office experience preferred.

· Bilingual: Spanish preferred.

· HIPAA certification and BLS training preferred.
