Role overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Head of Platform Operations to take full ownership of the availability, performance, and integrity of our core trading technology stack. This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operation, configuration, and continuous improvement of our MetaTrader 4 & 5, oneZero, and Mahi systems.
You will be the technical authority for our trading platforms — ensuring stable, low-latency execution, reliable liquidity connectivity, and rapid incident response — while leading and developing the platform operations function. The role sits at the intersection of trading technology, liquidity management, and operational reliability, working closely with the compliance, dealing desk, risk, IT, and external technology vendors.
Key responsibilities
• Own the uptime, performance, and integrity of the MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), oneZero, and Mahi platforms across all environments.
• Administer the MetaTrader estate, including symbol, group, and leverage configuration, margin and swap settings, trading sessions, plugins, and data feeds.
• Manage and optimise the oneZero bridge to ensure accurate order routing, execution quality, and reliable liquidity delivery.
• Oversee liquidity connectivity and aggregation through oneZero, including price feeds, failover, and feed quality monitoring.
• Proactively monitor platform health, latency, and capacity, implementing alerting and automated checks to detect issues before they impact clients.
• Lead incident management end to end — triage, resolution, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews — and maintain clear escalation paths.
• Define and maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and failover arrangements for all trading infrastructure.
• Manage change control for platform configuration, new product/symbol rollouts, and version upgrades.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Manage relationships with key technology vendors and liquidity providers (e.g. MetaQuotes, oneZero, LPs), holding them to agreed service levels.
• Partner with the dealing desk, risk, compliance, and IT teams to support trading operations and product initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the platform operations team, setting standards and building operational resilience.
Required skills and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on MetaTrader (MT4/MT5) administration access.
• Demonstrable experience administering and troubleshooting a MetaTrader bridge(order routing, liquidity connectivity, and execution flow).
• Strong understanding of FX/CFD execution models, including STP, A-book/B-book, and liquidity aggregation.
• Proven ability to monitor, diagnose, and resolve platform and connectivity issues under time pressure.
• Experience owning incident management and driving root-cause resolution.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and trading/business teams.
• Strong English language skills
Desirable / beneficial
• Hands-on experience with oneZero or PrimeXM.
• Familiarity with liquidity provider onboarding and feed management.
• Scripting/automation skills (e.g. for monitoring or routine operations), Python, SQL, and a working knowledge of networking as it relates to low-latency trading infrastructure.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements relating to trade execution, reporting, and data integrity in relevant jurisdictions.
