As a member of the Human Resources team, the HR Business Partner serves as the primary Human Resources representative in the division, supporting our company managers and employees in achieving goals, projects and objectives.

Position responsibilities:
Supports new employee onboarding and ongoing training and development processes. Works with the Learning and Engagement team to schedule programs and resources through Johnstone University.
Supports performance management processes by ensuring job descriptions are up-to-date and communicated clearly to employees, coordinating goal setting and review processes, and supporting managers in providing feedback and direction to enhance employee success. Ensures coaching and formal disciplinary actions are handled in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Serves as the point of contact for employees and managers in resolving issues and employee concerns regarding the work environment or performance. Ensures employees have an avenue to raise disagreements or issues, conducts initial investigations, proposes solutions, and elevates situations to the Chief People Officer (CPO) as needed.
Supports payroll processes by ensuring new hire, termination and other job change information is accurate and submitted in a timely fashion. Ensure managers and employees have the knowledge to accurately code and submit bi-weekly timecards.
Supports Johnstone benefit programs by tracking employee eligibility and coordinating enrollment processes as needed.
Supports leave of absence requests in compliance with company Leave policy and administrator. Creates and maintains records for all correspondence with employees; tracking leave hours available and used by employees ensuring prompt follow-up and communications with employees, managers, and the compliance team.
Supports Workers’ Compensation accident reporting locally and claims support procedures, in compliance with safety and health requirements.
Connects HR initiatives to business outcomes. Drives growth, profitability, and productivity on committees and within the team. Supports reporting on turnover, engagement, job classification, exit interviews, hiring trends etc.
Supports employee engagement and a positive company culture by leading activities that bring people together, celebrating company and community events, and drive participation in engagement surveys and feedback.
Provides additional support at the request of the CPO or HR teams for projects.
Position requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in Human Resources; at least 5 years related HR Generalist experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge of and ability to apply human resource management principles, including recruiting, hiring, compensation, training and orienting, coaching, and managing the performance of employees.
Knowledge of and ability to administer wide range of policies and employee relations skills.
Knowledge of and ability to use current large scale HRIS platforms. Previous experience with ADP preferred, but not required for this role.
Ability to use current Microsoft Office software. Intermediate Excel skills are required.
Ability to develop and use systems for organizing, auditing, coding and keeping track of information.
Ability to create and follow standardized procedures.
