Strategic Planning and Policy Development:
Implements, and oversee HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with legal requirements.
Ensures that HR initiatives and policies support the overall strategic goals and business objectives of the distribution center and the broader organization.
Team Member Relations and Conflict Resolution:
Is a trusted advisor to the Distribution Center (DC) Director on team member relations issues, including conflict resolution, corrective actions, and complaints.
Oversees the investigation process throughout the Distribution Center.
Fosters a positive and collaborative relationship between leadership and team members.
Makes effective recommendations on hiring, disciplinary matters, and separation decisions.
Acts as an ambassador for BJ’s Wholesale Club’s culture and purpose, promoting an inclusive and engaging work environment.
Recruitment and Talent Management:
Participates in the recruitment process, including interviewing, pre-screening/selecting, and onboarding new team members.
Develops and manages talent retention strategies to ensure staffing levels meet operational demands.
Collaborates with leadership to assess staffing needs and provide input on hiring decisions.
Partners with third-party organizations to engage temporary workers as needed to meet workload demands.
Compensation and Benefits Administration:
Oversees new hire orientation and benefits open enrollment to ensure team members have access to necessary benefits and information.
Oversees timely and accurate execution and transmission of payroll on a weekly basis, resolving any payroll issues promptly.
Performance Management and Training:
Oversees performance appraisal systems and ensure that all performance reviews and merit increases are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Provides guidance on team member development and coordinate training programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
Oversees training programs, ensuring they are completed on time and align with organizational goals.
HR Metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Drives key performance indicators (KPIs) crucial to the success of the distribution center, including team member engagement, retention, productivity, and efficiency.
Analyzes HR metrics to develop and implement strategies to improve performance, reduce turnover, enhance team member experience, and ensure operational demands are met.
Coaching amp; Leadership Development
Provides performance management support, including coaching, career development, and succession planning for supply chain leadership.
Leads and mentors Sr HR Coordinator and HR Coordinator in best HR practices, leadership consulting, and strategic influence.
Partners with supply chain leadership to identify high-potential talent and implement leadership development programs.
Engagement and Communication:
Actively engages with leadership and team members on a regular basis to foster open communication and a positive work culture.
Directs the coordination of HR-related information between the DC and the Club Support Center (CSC) to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Partners with team members throughout the organization to communicate and educate on policies, procedures, and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements in all HR practices.
Contributes to the success of BJ’s Wholesale Club’s distribution center operations by driving continuous improvement through key performance indicators.
Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR-related role within supply chain.
Strong communication skills, proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word, and familiarity with HR and payroll systems.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Position may require up to 50% travel throughout the company footprint and flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as dictated by business needs.
Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $76,000.00.
