Role Overview

The HR Coordinator plays a critical role in providing operational and administrative support across key Human Resources functions. This position ensures the efficient execution of processes related to employee services, recruitment, onboarding, internal communications, employee well-being, and regulatory compliance.

Serving as a vital link between employees, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional teams, the HR Coordinator facilitates the implementation of strategic talent initiatives, fosters a positive employee experience, and upholds adherence to internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Additionally, this role actively supports the management of HR systems such as Workday and contributes to the preparation of reports and key documentation that inform data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Experience & Communications
Design and lead initiatives that promote employee well-being, team connection, and social responsibility. Support HRBPs in executing engagement activities, deliver impactful onboarding experiences, and contribute to the development of internal communication strategies.

Employee Support & HR Operations
Provide guidance on HR self-service tools (e.g., Workday), manage unemployment-related processes, and support departmental projects. Assist HR Business Partners with regulatory leave administration, accommodation requests, and flexible work arrangements.

Engagement, Retention & Internal Communications

Design the quarterly calendar of initiatives related to employee well-being, team integration, and corporate social responsibility.
Lead and support HRBPs in the planning and execution of employee engagement activities.
Deliver onboarding sessions and ensure a seamless and positive new hire experience.
Collaborate in the development and execution of internal communication strategies.

Onboarding & Employee Integration Support
Coordinate the end-to-end hiring and onboarding process, including communication with Payroll, Security, IT, and Quality teams. Ensure new hires receive and understand all required documentation, benefits information, and company policies. Manage employee registrations with government agencies, support system profile creation, and track performance evaluations.

Administrative & Compliance Support
Handle employment verifications, legal documentation, and employee terminations. Ensure compliance with local labor regulations (DOL PR, ASUME), maintain accurate personnel records, and support compensation surveys and reporting. Assist with benefits initiatives and provide recruitment support as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Prior experience using Workday is a plus.
Knowledge of regulatory leave administration, including ADA, FSE, FMLA, SINOT, and other applicable policies.
Familiarity with unemployment insurance processes and requirements.
Ability to analyze talent data and generate strategic reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or other analytics platforms.
Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset.
Proven ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Flexibility to travel between locations as needed (Cataño, Dorado, Ponce and Mayaguez).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20,000.00 – $25,000.00 per year
