Western Branch Diesel, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, LLC, is conducting a search for an HR Generalist to work in our Corporate office here in the Hampton Roads area. The successful applicant will participate and help lead in the design, support and execution of employee onboarding and performance management systems, company benefit plans and will assist with regulatory and safety reporting requirements.
The successful candidate for this role has a strong work ethic, leadership abilities, is process-oriented, and has the drive, learning ability and creativity to help us continue to build and improve. The following is a summary of essential functions and duties:
Maintain all employee and applicant documentation as required by company policy and governing agencies.
Drive creative and strategic initiatives to enhance the employee onboarding and performance review experience
Actively participate in all employee new-hire, onboarding and termination processes as needed.
Coaches, counsels and guides managers with respect to employee disciplinary actions, organizational changes, or other related issues.
Manages the employee performance evaluation processes.
Reports, maintains and monitors all disability and FMLA cases.
Assists with payroll and 401-k administration as needed with an emphasis on procedural, policy and process improvements including fully leveraging ADP HRIS / payroll functionality.
Help lead and implement the annual open enrollment benefits process.
Travel – Up to 5 % to 10 % travel may be required.
Required / Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
3-5 years of experience in the administration of safety and benefit programs, payroll, employee relations, recruiting and other human resource programs – equivalent and / or related business administrative experience also considered. Recent college graduates considered.
Experience working with ADP HRIS, payroll and benefits administrative software or other similar type software.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications – successful candidate will currently hold or be working towards SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certifications.
