About the Role
As an HR Generalist at Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting the Arizona construction field team through hands-on HR operations and workforce support. This position requires strong relationship-building, public-speaking, and conflict-resolution skills, and offers the opportunity to directly influence employee engagement, safety culture, and compliance in a dynamic field environment.
You will collaborate with the Senior HR Manager, Talent Acquisition, and field leadership teams to ensure smooth onboarding, consistent performance practices, and strong HR presence at job sites. This is a fully onsite role based in Arizona.

What You’ll Do
Coordinates onboarding and orientation to ensure a seamless new-hire experience
Partners with field leadership to address employee relations matters and resolve conflicts
Advises on performance management, corrective action, and compliance with AZ employment law
Maintains accurate employee records, supports audits, and ensures policy adherence
Collaborates with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and transitions
Tracks and reports workforce data, trends, and HR metrics for business insights
Leads HR-related communications and initiatives that promote culture and engagement
Builds rapport with employees at job sites, providing accessible, visible HR support
Develops functional expertise in an HR specialty to support long-term strategy
Supports safety-first culture by promoting best practices and regulatory compliance
Performs other duties as assigned
Who You Are
3+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably in construction or field services
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Eligible to work in the United States
Working knowledge of Arizona employment laws and general HR compliance
Proficient in HRIS systems such as Workday and UKG; Microsoft 365 preferred
Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and conflict-resolution skills
SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred; OSHA 30 a plus
Demonstrates sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
