Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting various HR and Payroll functions, including employee onboarding/evaluation, performance management, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and experience with QuickBooks Payroll, Site Docs, KRUX and Blackfox. Your ability to facilitate change management initiatives and ensure compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations will be essential to the success of our HR operations.

Responsibilities

Assist in the recruitment process by managing job postings, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
Conduct employee evaluations and performance management processes to support staff development.
Maintain accurate employee records and manage administrative tasks related to onboarding and offboarding processes.
Collaborate with management to implement change management strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with MSHA and OSHA standards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
Support HR projects by coordinating timelines, resources, and communication among stakeholders.
Help in the development of HR policies and procedures to improve overall efficiency.
Manage the hiring, onboarding and processing terminations.
Process or biweekly payroll in QuickBooks including W2’s and 1094 processing.
Manage confidential pre-employment activities including offers of employment, drug screening, I-9 completion in E-Verify and new hire data into the payroll system.
Provide maintenance of employee personnel files.
Complete 401K and process contributions biweekly and send them to provider. Complete annual audit.
Plan and execute employee events both onsite and offsite
Assist in other areas when needed like A/R, A/P invoicing and answering telephones.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in HR or business and 3 years of experience in HR and payroll processing.
Strong Excel skills: formulas/ V-lookups and provide detailed reporting
Demonstrated understanding of HR standard operating procedures.
Strong business proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel.
Proficient in administrative tasks with a keen eye for detail.
Experience with project management methodologies to drive HR initiatives forward.
Proficient with QuickBooks Payroll (2 years), Site Docs, KRUX and Blackfox is highly desirable.
Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations to ensure workplace safety compliance.
Excellent management skills to facilitate smooth transitions within the organization.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels.

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
