Job Description:
Job Summary:
The HR Specialist role combines direct recruitment coordination with accurate and efficient HRIS data entry and Workday system support. The HR Specialist plays a key role in keeping internal processes organized, timely, and compliant, while contributing to a positive employee experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
Assist hiring managers with recruitment coordination and documentation.
Coordinate pre-employment processes, including background checks, I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification, and onboarding paperwork.
Accurately enter and update employee information in Workday, including hires, job changes, and separations.
Assist in auditing new hires and job changes for accuracy with the payroll team.
Initiate basic ad hoc and monthly reports.
Navigate Workday to complete HR transactions and troubleshoot basic HRIS issues such as workflow errors, missing data fields, and routing problems.
Serve as a point of contact for questions related to data entry, system processes, and functionality within Workday.
Ensure data integrity and compliance with HR policies and data management standards.
Maintain confidential records of recruitment and HRIS activities in a secure and organized manner.
Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in Human Resources, with emphasis on recruitment and HRIS data entry.
Firsthand experience with Workday required; ability to independently navigate the platform and troubleshoot common issues.
Diligence in, and a commitment to maintaining accurate data.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Previous experience supporting high-volume recruitment cycles desired.
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and onboarding tools desired.
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or similarly complex organizational settings desired.

Salary:
$28 – 34/hour DOE
