Nelkin Real Estate is a privately held commercial real estate firm specializing in the acquisition and management of commercial real estate in the Southeastern United States. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of HR and Payroll Specialist in our Brookhaven, GA office.

Qualifications for the HR and Payroll Specialist:

Bachelor’s is preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required
Experience in Human Resources

Responsibilities for the HR and Payroll Specialist:

Requests from the department of labor when they have statistics to check or audits to be done that are time sensitive I have to address
Addressing issues that arise with employees/how to handle situations that arise
Yearly workers’ comp audits that are due
Keep up with PTO and time off requests
Manage health insurance – Colonial life, Humana, Unum bills and Cobra
General HR duties
Managing hiring and firing
Process Payroll (biweekly)
Communicate with commercial tenants, and input maintenance tasks into the work order system.
Track progress and status of work orders, follow up with vendors and tenants as necessary.
Draft and review lease agreements, renewals, and other contracts.
Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with tenants and leasing agents.
Perform market studies to determine rental rates of vacant spaces.
Assist Property Manager in reviewing receivables and collections as well as inputting tenant data into Yardi
Review and code vendor and utility invoices for accuracy; submit for approval and payment.
Prepare Property Management job invoices for management fees and tenant billings.
Review insurance compliance for all tenants.
Assist Property Manager in coordinating and managing vendor contracts for property level services.
Assist in filing as needed
Some AP/AR
Assist the Main Office w/ administrative help as needed
Assist in providing due diligence information as needed for appraisers, attorneys, auditors and/or tax consultants.
Cultivate and maintain positive tenant relationships, assisting Property Managers in resolving issues as they occur.
Some travel within (40 miles radius) to do occasional on-site employee training

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm
Alternating phone for on-call emergencies on the weekends as needed
Ideally, the right candidate would start working within 1-2 weeks of hiring.

Education:

High school degree
Some Bachelor’s (Preferred)
