Job Summary
The Human Resources Business Partner II (HRBP II) serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, managers, and employees by providing expert HR guidance and solutions to achieve business objectives. This role is responsive for driving organizational performance, optimizing talent management, fostering a positive company culture, and ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws. The HRBP II collaborates with leaders across departments to align HR initiatives with business needs, improve employee engagement, and enhance workforce productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership and management teams to align HR strategies with business objectives, drive organizational effectiveness, and support key initiatives to improve business performance.
Lead and support recruitment efforts, including developing job descriptions, conducting interviews, managing offer processes, and sourcing candidates for a wide range of positions. Ensure talent acquisition strategies align with business needs and goals.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, resolving complex employee relations issues
Advise managers and supervisors in performance management, including conducting performance reviews, creating development plans, and providing feedback. Assist in developing strategies to enhance employee performance and address performance issues.
Partner with leadership to implement and monitor succession planning and leadership development programs to support long-term business objectives.
Collaborate with the compensation team to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices. Support employees and managers with benefits-related inquiries.
Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state and local labor laws, including timely update of labor law posters and communication. Provide guidance on HR-related legal matters, including employee discipline, terminations, and investigations, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
Lead training initiatives focused on HR topics, including leadership development, conflict resolution, and compliance. Support employees with continuous development opportunities that align with business needs.
Monitor key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, retention) and use data to make informed decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements in HR processes and programs.
Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the organization and compliance with legal requirements.
Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires. Facilitate offboarding processes, conducting exit interviews, and providing feedback to management on trends and opportunities for improvement.
Maintains and updates HR, Safety and other compliance and general information on communication slides for internal TV screens and on communication boards in breakrooms.
Maintains employee records (hard and electronic).
Assists in processing and tracking all leave of absences and accommodations.
Responds to all unemployment requests and schedules HR Supervisor or Director for hearings as needed.
Acts as a backup to the EHS Manager, assisting with safety-related training initiatives and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Step in as the primary point of contact and provide support in the absence of the HR Supervisor, ensuring continuity of HR operations and effective management of day-to-day HR functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a strategic role or similar position.
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent certification (preferred).
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of HR best practices and HR management systems (experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with leaders, managers, and employees at all levels.
Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues and facilitate conflict resolution.
Knowledge of federal, state and local labor laws and regulations, with a strong ability to ensure organizational compliance.
Ability to think strategically and provide consultative guidance on HR matters that align with business needs.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others, with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Experience with compensation, benefits, and performance management systems.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods, move around the facility, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Must be able to work in a dynamic environment and engage with employees at various levels of the organization.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses, shoes and ear protection required while in the production areas.
Work Environment:
Office environment, with periodic exposure to the production floor or other areas of the facility.
Must be able to work comfortably in a setting with fluctuating temperatures (inside and outside).
