JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the affiliate’s human resource department.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide affiliate policy and procedure guidance to team members and management as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
Coordinate open enrollment and training for employee benefits programs.
Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
Bi-weekly payroll processing.
Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits and affiliate policies updates.
Be the primary contact for new hire onboarding and orientation.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
May attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Handle workers compensation, first report of injury database and safety regulations process.
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
Coordinate the administration of all Leave of Absence programs and processes including FMLA, STD, LTD, Transitional Work Program and Accommodations Process
Maintain personnel records.
Provide interview screening and support for recruitment efforts.
Oversees company drug test compliance and testing requirements
Manages the human resource information system records, conducts regular audits on the integrity of data within the system, and compiles reports from the database
Perform audit and compliance functions as requested on items such as audit reports verification, commission reports and payroll information
On an as needed basis, participate on various HR committees established to resolve employment challenges

Other duties as assigned.

Salary range is $50,000 – $53,000 a year

Requirements:

Required skills and qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
Experience running payroll and managing leave programs.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field –experience considered.
3-5 years of human resource experience.
Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems, Paylocity experience is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

The individual may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Individual may be subject to intermittent moderate noise levels.
