Overview
Eye Doctors of Arizona, is seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. This generalist role will provide HR administrative support to employees by performing HR duties in a manner that complements the HR Department and the Eye Doctors of Arizona business strategy. The HR Generalist will work closely with Eye Doctors of Arizona Owners and Management to align human resources strategies with organizational goals, ensuring efficient operations and a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of workforce management practices.
At least 1 year of previous experience as an HR Generalist (preferred).
Knowledge of employee benefits, talent acquisition, and government regulations/laws in Arizona.
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR technologies (Paychex and ADP experience preferred).
Customer-focused with a sense of urgency and a helpful attitude.
Strong accountability and commitment to follow-up and deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with data entry.
Ability to manage change effectively within the organization.
Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
HR or Benefits-related certification is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

Manage the recruitment process including job postings, screening candidates, and conducting interviews to ensure effective talent acquisition.
Administer hiring activities for new employees, including preparation of offer letters, initiating electronic employee self-service, and collecting new hire data.
Communicate hiring details internally and ensure smooth transitions into the organization.

Workforce and Organizational Management:

Oversee workforce management initiatives, change management strategies, and optimize team structures.
Collaborate with management on organization design to enhance operational efficiency.
Facilitate onboarding processes to integrate new hires into the company culture.

HR Policy and Compliance:

Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to maintain a positive work environment.
Utilize HR systems like Paychex for timekeeping and attendance tracking to ensure compliance with labor laws.
Provide support in employee relations matters, addressing concerns, and fostering a collaborative workplace.

Benefits Administration:

Compile, maintain, and distribute benefit documents (enrollment packets, insurance cards, etc.).
Track, process, and submit enrollments/changes/terminations through relevant provider websites.
Audit and approve monthly insurance bills, providing reconciliation assistance and problem resolution.
Oversee COBRA activities, ensuring proper administration of notifications, updates, and payments.
Assist employees with benefits/insurance questions, including claims resolution.
Submit disability claims and manage reporting requirements throughout the claim.
Assist in preparing company-wide communications for benefits (program changes, best practices, annual meetings).
Help with annual open enrollment activities, tracking and submitting changes to carriers and payroll.
Support insurance renewal processes, including coordination with brokers and providers, and annual audits.

Leave of Absence (LOA) Management:

Prepare FMLA, USERRA, and state-specific paperwork for employees requesting leave.
Communicate eligibility and leave details to employees.
Coordinate communication between employees, managers, and insurance providers regarding leave plans.
Track premium payments and ensure repayment in the event of missed premiums.

Workers’ Compensation:

Document first reports of injury and coordinate medical attention and drug testing as needed.
Communicate with workers’ comp insurance carriers regarding open claims.
Support annual audit activities related to workers’ compensation.

Payroll Support:

Ensure benefits deductions are properly maintained within the payroll system.
Provide backup support for payroll processing in the absence of the Payroll Specialist.

Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
