SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for employee relations including activities related to retention and recognition, HRMS data entry, investigations, responses to unemployment hearings and ensuring legal compliance with all Federal and State regulations, as well as company policies and procedures to support an employee-oriented, high performance culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with employees and management while providing counsel of all types to include progressive discipline. Offers coaching, skill development, management direction, and policy interpretation.
Work collaboratively with Union UFCW, Local 222.
Administer, interpret, and educate on collective bargaining agreement.
Manages the employee job bid/ transfer/ promotion process.
Assisting in the coordination of communications to the workforce. Providing problem resolution to complaints received by employees and partners with management to produce desired outcomes.
Participation in unemployment hearings.
Development and maintenance of HR related metrics and reports from those systems and performing the analysis on results. Creating professional presentations with data from various systems and reports.
Completing investigations and assisting in the preparation of EEOC and agency responses.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives, including, but not limited to providing support to other functional areas of HR.
Support Human Resources Manager in deploying HR policies, programs and initiatives.
Assist managers and employees in understanding and applying HR tools to improve organization performance and to drive culture
Will conduct, under the HRM supervision, investigations on employee relations matters
Will support daily employee related activities and processes to promote positive employee relations
Will collaborate with HR Services on all transactional HR matters
Ensure integrity in all HR systems with timely and accurate data entry and frequent audits
Responsible for running and creating reports, analyzing information, and providing data for the Human Resources Manager.
Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HR Supervisor seeks to develop integrated solutions.
Consult with Operations management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
Manage on-site HR functions to include the supervision of a Human Resources Generalist and Clerks.
Manage day to day human resources administrative tasks ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Manage and direct various special assigned projects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline with 2 years of experience in the Human Resources field with exposure to many of its disciplines with emphasis in Employee Relations preferred. Must have strong experience with compliance or audit processes and have excellent record keeping, data tracking, and dash-boarding skills. Experience in food manufacturing desired. Significant relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to think, communicate in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to effectively communicate with maintenance, production and management personnel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as benefits documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with outside consultants, vendors, and production and management personnel. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Demonstrated ability to understand advanced statistics and statistical analysis for process control.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written and/or verbal form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must demonstrate sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects accurately and confidently.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available. Strong experience working with and writing reports from applications such as HRMS, Payroll, T&A, LMS, Performance Management, Compensation, etc. Keen understanding and promotion of Self-Service applications and environments. Experience with ADP a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Preferred experience working with labor relations. Must possess professional courage and the ability to influence others.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit; use hands to finger; handle; or feel/hold objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; speak, hear, taste, and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vison, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Individual must be able to effectively work in a normal production environment where temperatures and noise levels may vary. Generally the incumbent must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Will spend considerable time on the production floor in hot and cold temperatures.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
