Job Description:

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency that focuses on issues critical to the region’s success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults and workforce solutions. ARC is dedicated to unifying the region’s collective resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future. This is done through professional planning initiatives, the provision of objective information and the involvement of the community in collaborative partnerships.

The Human Resources Generalist/Operations and Administrative Lead plays an essential role within the HR team, managing diverse administrative functions and providing comprehensive administrative support across the entire HR department. This position combines generalist responsibilities with significant administrative duties, ensuring smooth operations in employee lifecycle management, employee engagement, data accuracy, compliance, and departmental projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, people-focused, maintains a high degree of confidentiality, demonstrates a strong customer service orientation, and is capable of effectively managing multiple tasks with exceptional organizational skills and a sense of urgency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Lifecycle Management:

Coordinates comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
Conducts engaging and informative new hire orientations, promoting a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere from the start.

Employee Engagement:

Plans, organizes, and implements employee engagement initiatives and events to foster a vibrant and cohesive organizational culture.
Acts as a key facilitator and point of contact for employee engagement committees, supporting their initiatives and maintaining active communication.

Data Management & Compliance:

Maintains accurate and confidential employee records within relevant HR systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Organizes and maintains HR files according to established compliance guidelines, prepared to respond effectively to audits and internal inquiries.

Administrative Support:

Oversees and manages the HR ticketing system, ensuring prompt resolution and exceptional customer service for employee inquiries.
Provides administrative support across the HR department, including calendar management, meeting coordination, document preparation, and communications to support the CHRO.
Schedules, tracks, and coordinates employee training sessions, ensuring high engagement and accurate record-keeping.
Monitors and tracks service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring responsiveness and adherence to established standards.

Project Coordination & Dashboard Management:

Monitors and updates the HR project dashboard, providing timely progress reports and alerting the HR team to potential challenges.
Serves as the central communication hub, facilitating seamless coordination and information exchange across the HR team and broader organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of HR experience in a generalist or administrative capacity, or 5 years administrative experience.
