Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to qualify and process applications and employment documentation and extends employment offers.

This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Receives, analyzes and qualifies employment applications based on eligibility criteria.
Updates job postings, maintains records and provides information to the public.
Contacts applicants to extend employment offers and processes applications and documentation.
Reviews salary requests with department and Classification & Compensation, and negotiates salary with applicants.
Provides qualified applicant data to department to continue the interviewing and hiring process.
Attends job fairs and other events for recruitment purposes.
Calculates training and experience ratings.
Responds to inquiries from applicants, employees and departments.
Maintains application and eligibility list database records.
Performs related work.
Maintains knowledge of current federal, state and local employment legislation/regulations.
Analyzes and reviews ADA requests for accommodation.
Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.
Two (2) years of employment application processing or analytical human resources experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT)
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
