The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty excellence. Our newest colleague will join our highly motivated Human Resources team in advancing our mission by supporting The Association’s organizational and workforce needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, support HR operations through:

Time management and task prioritization.
Work with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
Follow instructions and processes.
Support data analysis and interpretation.
Contribute to special projects as needed.
Work with high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Interface across generations with colleagues and visitors.

ROUTINE DUTIES

Support recruiting process and onboarding events.
Assist with administrative tasks.
Participate in compliance-related self-audits.
Assist with data analysis of HR-related KPI’s.
Create and maintain annual compliance calendar.
Support quarterly employee meetings.
During absences of the Administrative Assistant, provide intermittent support to Vice President of HR and Communications such as:

o Calendar and scheduling.

o Greeting guests.

o Travel arrangements.

o Preparation for board meetings.

This position may be assigned other duties from time to time.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum

Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated prioritization and time management skills.

Preferred

Previous work, volunteer or intern experience involving recruiting or customer relations.
Completed coursework in organizational communication.
Availability to work during the summer.

PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS Ability to sit or stand for long periods on occasion and carry objects up to 10 pounds. Ability to work at a desk with frequent use of keyboard and monitor.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Required: Currently enrolled as a university student at Texas A&M University in College Station or Blinn College.

Preferred: Currently enrolled at Texas A&M College Station or Blinn College working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Training and Development, Communications, Sociology, Business Administration or similar field of study.

EMPLOYEES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FORMER STUDENTS

Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.
