Description
The Department of Disability Determination Services Programs (DDDSP) assists and determines eligibility for Social Security Administration Disability benefits for the citizens in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

We are seeking a Human Services Program Supervisor to direct the performance of employees in the Inquiry/Switchboard Section A of the Inquiry/Switchboard Branch.

The Human Services Program Supervisor position is a federally funded time limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Oversee and monitor the work of Inquiry/Switchboard Section A.
Provide guidance, training and technical assistance regarding the social security administration program functions, policies and procedures for assisting all disability case inquiries received.
Handle inquires regarding disability claims from the public, claimant representatives, attorneys, social security offices and state agencies.
Use Disability Case Processing System (DCPS) and E-View to research and respond to inquiries.
Oversee and manage staff call volume, wait time, assignment and dropped calls using Avaya Call Monitoring System Supervisor software provided by the Commonwealth Office of Technology.
Work with Systems Operations Unit staff to resolve technical issues with software.
Assess staff training needs, counsel employees regarding performance problems and evaluate the performance of staff; provide positive feedback.
Approve staff leave requests and timesheets.
Serve on department’s management team, assisting in defining goals and objectives and in developing technical procedures for disability claim inquiries.
Work with Systems Operations Unit and Policy Unit staff to develop and recommend policy and procedure alternatives to address specific call patterns.
Serve as a liaison to case processing management to communicate and provide resolution to disability claim issues.
This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the safeguarding and security of all confidential and sensitive information and will be required to complete trainings, sign acknowledgements, follow all policies and adhere to all statutes and requirements pertaining to the safeguarding and security of confidential and sensitive information while employed and after employment ends.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in the administration of human services programs, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in social work, health administration, labor relations, public or business administration or related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience, or professional, subprofessional, or clerical work in a human services area, emergency management services, emergency medical technician, paramedic, or related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
