Job Description

IPT (Instituto Politecnico De Tampa Corp) is expanding its team and seeking dependable, motivated professionals who are passionate about helping students build successful careers.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

1. HVAC Instructor

The HVAC instructor will teach practical and classroom-based courses covering air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate has strong field experience and can explain technical concepts clearly to students with different levels of experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching HVAC theory, safety, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Providing hands-on instruction in a laboratory or workshop environment
  • Preparing lessons, demonstrations, assignments, and student evaluations
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and professional classroom
  • Monitoring student attendance, participation, and progress
  • Encouraging students and preparing them for employment in the HVAC industry

2. Electrical Instructor

The electrical instructor will provide classroom and hands-on training in residential and commercial electrical systems. We are looking for someone with real-world industry experience who enjoys teaching and mentoring future technicians.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching electrical theory, safety, wiring, installation, troubleshooting, and code fundamentals
  • Demonstrating the proper use of tools, equipment, and testing instruments
  • Supervising hands-on laboratory activities
  • Preparing lessons, assignments, and student evaluations
  • Maintaining a safe and productive learning environment
  • Helping students develop the technical and professional skills employers expect

3. Receptionist–Admissions Representative

The receptionist/admissions representative will be the first point of contact for prospective students, current students, and visitors. This person must be friendly, professional, organized, and comfortable explaining our training programs and helping prospective students complete the enrollment process.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering telephone calls, messages, emails, and walk-in inquiries
  • Welcoming students and visitors professionally
  • Explaining IPT’s HVAC, electrical, and other career-training programs
  • Following up with prospective students and scheduling appointments
  • Assisting applicants with enrollment forms and required documentation
  • Maintaining accurate student and prospect records
  • Supporting student attendance and administrative processes
  • Performing general reception and office duties

Requirements

HVAC and Electrical Instructors:

  • At least three years of recent, verifiable experience in the applicable trade; five or more years preferred
  • Strong practical knowledge of installation, maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to teach both technical theory and hands-on skills
  • Clear communication, patience, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
  • Relevant trade licenses or certifications are strongly preferred
  • EPA Section 608 certification is required for HVAC instructors
  • Familiarity with current safety practices and applicable codes
  • Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
  • Previous teaching or training experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong field experience
  • Evening or weekend availability may be required

Receptionist–Admissions Representative:

  • Previous experience in reception, customer service, admissions, education, or sales is preferred
  • Excellent telephone, communication, and customer-service skills
  • Friendly, positive, patient, and professional attitude
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable speaking with prospective students and guiding them through enrollment
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, word processing, and electronic record systems
  • Ability to protect confidential student information
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to manage several responsibilities at once
