Full Job Description

The Judicial Assistant performs a variety of paralegal and administrative functions, including but not limited to:

Schedules and manages the Judge’s court calendar. Monitors and manages pending cases.

Screens and answers phone calls, processes judge’s mail.

Manages and monitors electronic videoconferencing and digital projection equipment.

Drafts correspondence, court orders, hearing notices and other legal documents. Prepares transcripts of search warrants. Conducts legal research and other tasks as requested.

Proofreads and edits opinions, decisions and memorandums.

Prepares jury instructions and verdicts. Performs jury management duties.

Assigns court appointed counsel and Guardian Ad Litem.

Provides back-up for other Judicial Assistants and Clerks in Court.

A high school diploma and whatever combination of additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
