Junior PMO Jobs in Greater Kuala Lumpur at HCLTech
Title: Junior PMO
Company: HCLTech
Location: Greater Kuala Lumpur
About the Company
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior PMO (Project Management Office) professional to support project governance, change request (CR) tracking, and delivery coordination within the banking domain. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a minimum of 2 full SDLC cycles completed. This role is critical in ensuring CRs are tracked end-to-end — from execution through UAT sign-off — and that implementation checklists are consolidated and reviewed prior to go-live. A candidate with prior PMO background will be an added value.
About the Role
- CR Tracking & Monitoring — Monitor and track the progress of all Change Requests (CRs) within defined timelines from execution through UAT sign-off. Ensure no CR slips through without proper status updates and closure.
- Stakeholder Communication — Communicate proactively with development teams, test leads, and business stakeholders on any issues, blockers, or challenges related to CRs. Escalate risks and delays in a timely manner.
- Implementation Checklist Management — Consolidate implementation checklists prior to the go-live date. Review the checklist thoroughly with the delivery team before presenting it to the CR management team for final approval.
- SDLC Governance — Ensure adherence to SDLC processes across all phases — requirements gathering, design, development, testing (SIT/UAT), deployment, and post-implementation review. Track deliverables and milestones at each phase.
- Project Reporting & Dashboards — Prepare and maintain project status reports, CR trackers, milestone dashboards, and weekly/monthly PMO reports. Provide clear visibility to management on project health and progress.
- Meeting Coordination — Schedule and facilitate project meetings including stand-ups, status calls, CR review meetings, and go-live readiness reviews. Capture minutes of meeting (MoM) and track action items to closure.
- Risk & Issue Management — Identify, log, and track project risks and issues. Follow up on mitigation actions and ensure timely resolution. Maintain a risk/issue register with regular updates.
- Documentation & Compliance — Maintain project documentation including project plans, RACI matrices, process flows, and governance artefacts. Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and audit-ready.
- Go-Live Readiness Support — Assist in coordinating go-live activities including deployment scheduling, rollback planning, and post-go-live monitoring. Ensure all pre-go-live checkpoints are completed and signed off.
- Continuous Improvement — Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, templates, and tracking mechanisms. Contribute to building a knowledge repository of lessons learned and best practices.
Required Skills
- SDLC Understanding — Solid understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle. Must have gone through a minimum of 2 complete SDLC cycles.
- CR Management — Hands-on experience in tracking and monitoring Change Requests (CRs) from initiation through UAT sign-off and deployment.
- Implementation Checklist — Ability to consolidate implementation checklists, review with delivery teams, and present to CR management teams prior to go-live.
- Communication Skills — Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with development teams, testers, and management on CR status, issues, and challenges.
- Project Tracking Tools — Proficiency in project tracking tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, Jira, or Confluence for status tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Reporting & Documentation — Ability to prepare clear, concise status reports, dashboards, MoMs, and project documentation for management review.
Preferred Skills
- Banking Domain — Exposure to banking or financial services projects is preferred.
- PMO Background — Prior experience working in a PMO setup — project governance, portfolio tracking, or delivery assurance — will be an added value.
- ITIL / ITSM Knowledge — Basic understanding of ITIL processes — incident, problem, and change management.
- Agile / Scrum Exposure — Familiarity with Agile methodology, sprint tracking, and Scrum ceremonies.
- Risk Management — Basic understanding of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
- Presentation Skills — Ability to prepare and present go-live readiness reports and CR summaries to senior management.

- MS Office Suite — Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards), PowerPoint, and Word.
