Role Overview: We are seeking a Tax Law Clerk to support our growing litigation practice. In this role, you will:

Assist in drafting and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.

Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.

Coordinate with lawyers, clients, and court offices to schedule hearings, appointments, and other key deadlines.

Provide administrative support as needed, including file management, billing coordination, and document production.

Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive client information and adhering to all ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Document Preparation :
Draft court forms, correspondence, and other litigation-related materials.

File Management :
Organize, update, and track case materials; maintain accurate records of documentation and communication.

Scheduling & Coordination :
Book court dates, track deadlines, and liaise with court personnel and clients to facilitate smooth proceedings.

Administrative Support :
Collaborate with lawyers to manage client inquiries, billing processes, and general office tasks.

Compliance & Confidentiality :
Follow all professional guidelines and legal requirements to ensure the integrity of case files and client data.

Qualifications

Education :
Diploma or Certificate in Law Clerk or Paralegal Studies from a recognized institution (or relevant experience).

Technical Skills :
Familiarity with Canadian legal procedures, particularly in tax litigation. Strong proficiency with document management software and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of tax law or interest in learning tax litigation procedures is an asset.

Soft Skills :
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload effectively, and meet strict deadlines. Team-oriented approach and proactive attitude; willingness to learn and adapt.
