Job Summary: The Learning and Development Associate is responsible for creating and developing training programs to educate employees on sales, core systems knowledge, with a primary focus of developing sales, lending, operations, and branch employee skill base. The Learning and Development Associate is also responsible for Midwest America Federal Credit Union’s (MWAFCU) compliance training/tracking to ensure all staff have completed their specific training in a timely manner.
Qualifications: An associate or bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Education, or related field and/or a minimum of two (2) years of experience with lending in a financial institution or related field. Prefer a minimum of one (1) years of formal training in developing and presenting training programs. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable three (3) year driving record preferred.
Essential Elements of the Job:
1. Maintain a positive and professional image of self and Credit Union.
2. Use appropriate training methods, including behavior modeling, guided discovery, blended learning, retraining, coaching/mentoring, role playing and review games to enhance learning.
3. Administer and grade employee performance promo tests for employee skill evaluation and other necessary trainings. Monitor and oversee “Recognition Program” through CPD-Online.
4. Participate in new product and service committees as assigned by the SVP of Member Solutions.
5. Proactively visit branch locations as an MSA and MSR on a bi-annual basis.
6. Conduct product and sales training upon the completion of new employee training.
7. Compile and update a list of current employees who currently have a notary stamp. Maintain a list of employees who are required to complete their continuing education or renew their notary registration. Contact employees to remind them when their continuing education or renewal is due.
8. Coordinate with Allied Solutions for presentation of the quarterly Debt Protection, MBP/Route 66, and GAP training.
9. Budget and track all expenses related to training activities.
10. Work with SVP of Member Solutions and other key management to develop sales training programs.
11. Maintain, update, and track all materials coming in and out of the Training library.
12. Serve as administrator for the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) for MWAFCU.
13. Maintain and update Symitar, Temenos, Synapsys and product/sales manuals.
14. Train new membership officers and send out training annually. Ensure all accounts have been properly reviewed monthly.
15. Work with HR to coordinate dates for new employee orientation classes. Coordinate with management to schedule training for loans, membership officers, notary stamps and various other training.
16. Maintain the compliance training master list for individual training at MWAFCU which includes CPD Online and KnowBe4.
17. Maintain and update manuals and procedures located in SharePoint as needed.
18. Serve as Administrator for the Elan CRC Credit Card Platform; this includes adding/deleting employees, assigning required training and coordinating annual visits with account representative.
Additional Job Requirements:
1. Ability to participate in special projects as needed.
2. Work with all departments to coordinate and schedule trainings for the Education Center.
3. Actively participate in seminars, continuing education, certifications, training sessions and workshops.
4. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for future job advancement.
5. Maintain desk manual for this position.
6. Other administrative duties as assigned.
Job Skills and Work Relations:
Incumbent must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills and public speaking. Able to learn complex technical information and use it to develop sales training materials. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams, Webex, Zoom and RingCentral meetings. Incumbents must possess good judgement, strong problem-solving and abstract reasoning abilities. Incumbents must be innovative, have initiative, and be detail oriented. Must possess good critical thinking and decision-making skills. Also, must be able to work collaboratively with multiple departments, staff, and outside vendors.
Incumbent reports directly to the SVP of Member Solutions.
Physical Effort and Working Conditions:
Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment involving sitting, standing, keyboarding, close vision, speaking clearly, physical mobility, manual dexterity, reading and interpreting data, hearing sounds and communication. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Incumbents may work with a desktop computer, printer, copier, telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment as needed. Incumbents may occasionally travel to surrounding area branches.
