We are looking for a dedicated family law LAA to join our client, a boutique family law firm in Vancouver downtown. In this role, you will provide essential support to 2 lawyers, focusing on administrative and procedural tasks within the realm of family law. This position requires someone with excellent organizational and communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Preliminary drafting of correspondence and legal documents

Understanding of legal procedures in family law

Filing, file maintenance and calendar diarizations, and incoming/outgoing mail

Managing BF system

Fielding client inquiries via telephone contact/management

Liaising with legal assistants, other lawyers, and clients on file progress

Assisting with the drafting of court documents, list of documents, Separation Agreements, Minutes of Settlements, financial statements and summaries

General administrative duties

Qualifications:

Legal administrative assistant certificate/diploma from a recognized institution

3+ years of family law LAA experience

Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), Divorcemate, Adobe, BC Online, PCLaw

Ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks and competing priorities

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality based on changing demands

Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail

Mature, reliable and strong interpersonal skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
