OVERALL SCOPE OF JOB DESRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will support the Marketing team in providing essential administrative and coordination support, while collaborating with the team to deliver ideas on content creation, storytelling and marketing campaigns.
The role provides day-to-day support across brand communications, content creation, digital marketing, media relations, partnerships, events, and administrative functions, ensuring all initiatives are delivered to the highest standards of excellence and reflect the resort's distinctive brand identity.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Admin and Reporting
- Provide administrative support including preparation and submission of internal forms and documentation for travel arrangements, payments, purchasing, and other operational requirements as needed.
- Provide general support to the Marketing team, including documentation, scheduling, project tracking and coordination tasks.
- Assist in preparing presentations and monthly reports according to the standard.
- Ensure adherence to all data privacy regulations and safeguard sensitive guest, partner, and stakeholder information.
- Maintain inventory of marketing items, including gifts and branded merchandise, ensuring adequate stock levels, proper storage and timely replenishment to support media visits and special events.
- Monitor and maintain the Marketing department inbox (newsletter and marketing group email), ensuring all inquiries are acknowledged and responded to professionally, accurately and in a timely manner, or redirected to the appropriate team member where necessary.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Director of Marketing and wider Marketing team as required.
Brand Coordination
- Ensure all marketing materials comply with The Datai Langkawi's brand guidelines, tone of voice and visual identity.
- Coordinate the brand collateral request, production, inventory and distribution of printed collateral, promotional materials and branded merchandise.
- Maintain accurate records of marketing assets, brand templates and project documentation.
- Liaise with creative agencies, production teams, suppliers and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to brand standards.
PR and Partnerships
- Assist Director Marketing and appointed PR Representatives to coordinate media, influencer, photographer, filmmaker and key opinion leader visits, including itineraries, travel arrangements, activity scheduling and follow-up requirements.
- Prepare media kits, briefing documents, press materials and supporting collateral.
- Support the implementation of partnership activations and collaborative marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate across departments—including Marketing, PR, Guest Services, and The Datai Pledge—to gather stories, plan campaigns, and support on-ground initiatives.
Social Media and Digital Marketing
- Support the day-to-day management of the content calendar and publishing across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms as required.
- Assist in overseeing both The Datai Langkawi and The Datai Pledge social media accounts. Help respond to messages and engage with the online community in a refined, timely, and thoughtful manner – upholding The Datai’s tone of grace and discretion.
- Monitor brand sentiment and online conversations, while engaging with the online community in a refined, timely, and thoughtful manner and escalating matters as needed in coordination with the Director of Marketing
- Maintain digital asset management systems, ensuring marketing materials remain organised, current and easily accessible.
- Assist with developing EDMs and e-newsletter on Revinate, monitoring and reporting.
Campaign and Event Support
- Support the planning and delivery of resort events, brand activations, sustainability programmes and signature initiatives, including The Datai Pledge Festival.
- Provide coordination and administrative support for special events, campaigns/initiatives. Including coordinating timelines, scheduling, logistics, supplier requirements and internal communications to ensure seamless execution
- Coordinate photography and videography shoots, including scheduling, shot lists, location preparation, talent coordination, permits (where required), and liaison with internal departments, photographers and creative partners to ensure smooth execution.
- Assist in preparing post-campaign and post-event report/evaluations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will be a a highly organised and detail-oriented marketing professional with excellent communication skills, strong project coordination abilities and a passion for luxury hospitality, storytelling and sustainability.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in marketing, communications or digital marketing, preferably within luxury hospitality, travel or lifestyle brands.
- Creative mindset with an appreciation for visual storytelling, luxury branding and guest experience.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content trends and marketing tools such as Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Canto, Revinate or similar platforms.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Business English, both written and oral.
- Experience coordinating marketing campaigns, events and content production
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working both in office and on-site to assist with media visit, photoshoot, events and special projects.
- Ability to work under pressure with excellent project and deadline management skills.
- Present oneself in an appropriate manner i.e. dress code and personal hygiene.
