We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for our Colorectal clinic. The ideal candidate will support our specialists by providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent
communication skills
, and the ability to multitask in a
fast-paced environment
.
Responsibilities:
Rooming the patient
Maintain accurate and
up-to-date
patient records in EMR systems
Scheduling surgeries
Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day
Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications
Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/
up-to-date
referral is in the patient’s chart
Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures related to colorectal health
Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered
Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient
Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed
Performs related duties as required

Requirements:
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Colorectal practice
Bilingual is a plus
Excellent
communication
and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Strong
attention to detail
and accuracy
