Gritman Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionateMedical Assistant Ito join our Primary Care Group in a full-time capacity. Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Documentation

Assist patients during intake, prepare exam rooms, and document clinical care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Monitor patient progress and outcomes, ensuring all interventions are appropriately recorded.

Diagnostic Testing & Lab Work

Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, venipunctures, and capillary blood draws, adhering to all quality and regulatory guidelines.

Conduct in-office diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, vision, and hearing screenings, under provider supervision.

Vaccinations & Injections

Administer adult and pediatric vaccines in compliance with CDC guidelines and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.

Perform subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intradermal injections under the supervision of a healthcare provider.

Provider Support

Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.

Act as a medical scribe, documenting care and entering orders/referrals in the EHR as directed.

Administrative Responsibilities

Handle medication prior authorizations with insurance providers.

Manage inventory control, ensuring medical supplies are ordered and stocked appropriately.

Process incoming and outgoing electronic documents, including lab results, consult notes, and patient correspondence, through the EHR.

Safety & Quality Improvement

Report variances, near misses, and patient concerns through the online incident reporting system.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.

Monitor the waiting area for safety and privacy concerns, addressing or escalating issues as necessary.

Provide feedback to team leads or directors regarding office needs, equipment malfunctions, or process improvements.

Requirements:

Education:

No formaleducationrequired

Licenses/Certifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

CCMA or CMA preferred

Experience:

Proficiency with computers and office systems is required.

Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus but not mandatory.
