Responsibilities:
– Greets and directs all visitors, members, retirees and vendors
– Answering incoming telephone calls
– Process, logs, sorts and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and incoming checks
– Assists and updates member/retiree information in internal database (address, phone, email, etc.)
– Assist with processing Death Claims
– Assist with monthly mail outs
– Assist members with unemployment inquiries
– Monitor and replenishes office supplies
– Assist with Travel/Hotel/Car Bookings
– Occasional off-site work errands
– Performs other general administrative duties as required
Skills:
– Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively with attention to detail
– Proficient in using tools and databases (Microsoft Word, Excel, web browers, email, etc)
– Responds promptly to customer needs; able to interact with members and staff both face-to-face and on the phone in a cordial and professional manner
– Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions
– Understand that in this job, you are part of a movement that will call upon your leadership and judgment to move working people, and the community forward
– Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
– Able to lift up to 25 pounds
– Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views; contributes to building a positive team spirit; treats people with respect; follows policies and procedures
