The Red Hat OpenShift Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing containerized and virtualized workloads within OpenShift environments. This role bridges traditional virtualization and cloud-native platforms, ensuring seamless integration, automation, and high availability of infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong Linux administration expertise along with hands-on experience in CI/CD and automation to support modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments to support containerized and virtualized workloads.
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain virtual machines (VMs) within OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage and optimize Linux-based systems, including installation, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Develop and manage automation workflows using Ansible for configuration management and system orchestration.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate virtualization solutions into cloud-native architectures.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime and reliability of infrastructure services.
  • Implement security best practices, access controls, and compliance standards across environments.
  • Support infrastructure scaling, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Linux Administrator (RHEL preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (formerly KubeVirt) and container platforms.
  • Proven expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools).
  • Solid experience with Ansible for automation, configuration management, and deployment.
  • Good understanding of virtualization concepts, containers, and Kubernetes architecture.
  • Experience with system monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, VLANs) in containerized environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
