About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Assistant – Air Freight Import to join our team at KLIA. The successful candidate will support daily air import operations, customs documentation, shipment coordination, and customer service activities to ensure smooth and timely cargo movements.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Handle daily air freight import operations and customs-related documentation.
✅ Coordinate import shipments with Operations, Warehouse, Land Transport, and Customs departments.
✅ Liaise with overseas offices, vendors, suppliers, and contractors regarding shipment arrangements.
✅ Monitor and manage import processes to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
✅ Update shipment milestones and mandatory events (ARR, NFD, DRB, CCD, POD) in Tango.
✅ Prepare monitoring reports and shipment updates based on customer requirements.
✅ Work closely with the Customs team on duties, taxes, and regulatory updates.
✅ Follow up on quotation requests and validity periods with the Sales/Business Development team.
✅ Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
✅ Escalate operational issues to management when necessary.
✅ Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements
✔ SPM, STPM, or Diploma in a related field.
✔ Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Air Freight Cargo Operations.
✔ Experience in Import Operations will be an added advantage.
✔ Good understanding of freight forwarding and logistics operations.
✔ Customer-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
✔ Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
