Operations Assistant Jobs in Australia at Drive Against Depression
Title: Operations Assistant
Company: Drive Against Depression
Location: Australia
About Drive Against Depression
Drive Against Depression (DAD) is a registered charity dedicated to supporting mental wellness through the freedom of driving. Our early intervention work is community focused, and by organising social drives, events, and unique motoring experiences, we create spaces for individuals to connect and start meaningful conversations about mental health.
Our mission centers on normalising discussions about mental health to remove stigma and barriers, improve help seeking behaviour, and foster a sense of belonging through shared interests. As we expand our services and reach, we are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team and help us drive mental wellness.
Role Description
This is a meaningful volunteer opportunity that drives social connection and measurable mental health outcomes. We plan for this role to progress from volunteer to a paid role.
In this cross-functional support role, the Operations Assistant will support the coordination and execution of various initiatives and enable operational efficiency. With guidance and a clear brief from DAD leadership, key responsibilities include:
• Assist with the planning and coordination of events in collaboration with the National Events Coordinator

• Support operational and administrative processes across the organisation
• Coordinate bookings, schedules, travel and logistics, as required
• Collate documents and communications materials in relation to projects and charity deliverables

• Support internal and external communications with professionalism and responsiveness
• Liaise with volunteers, partners, suppliers and stakeholders, as required
• Track assigned tasks and ensure follow-through on key deliverables
• Provide general ad-hoc support to Directors and project leads as the organisation grows
• Feel welcome to identify opportunities to innovate and enhance organisational processes
What will Support Success in this Role
• While there is flexibility in this role and hours are negotiable, consistency of availability is important
• A calm, capable and common-sense approach
• A genuine willingness to help others and contribute to team success
• The ability to juggle deadlines and/or tasks without losing attention to detail
• Curiosity, initiative and a continuous improvement mindset
• A strong sense of ownership and pride in delivering high-quality work
• Ability to work independently and remotely, with initiative and accountability
• Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Workspace, MS Office suite and online platforms
• A team player who brings positivity and integrity to their work
