Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to join our team. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our homebuilding projects, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Operations Manager will play a key role in streamlining processes, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement across various teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all operational aspects of the homebuilding projects from planning to completion, ensuring projects meet quality standards and timelines.
Coordinate and collaborate with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control measures are in place to meet financial goals.
Review project schedules, manage timelines, and adjust project plans as needed to ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Manage and improve relationships with external vendors, contractors, and clients.
Resolve operational issues and challenges that arise during the construction process.
Maintain an organized system for tracking project progress, including inventory management, permits, and documentation.
Train and mentor staff on operational processes, safety protocols, and company policies.
Prepare regular operational reports for upper management, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement in project management, construction processes, and operational workflows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
5+ years of experience in operations management within the homebuilding or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of homebuilding processes, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
Solid understanding of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Ability to make decisions under pressure, manage complex projects, and solve problems effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.
Experience with residential or commercial construction projects.
Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, Monday through Friday (with occasional weekend work based on project needs).
Ability to travel to job sites as required.
Work in both office and field settings.
