Overview
Operations Executive (Fleet) Jobs in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia at Dyna
Title: Operations Executive (Fleet)
Company: Dyna
Location: Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
Position: Fleet Operations Executive
Company: Dynasynergy Technology Sdn Bhd
Team: Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Shah Alam with regular travel to the other base
Type: Full-time
About the Role
Dyna runs a fleet of pickups, lorries and cranes across Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. Those vehicles take technicians and spare parts to genset, telco and solar sites, many of them remote. When a vehicle is off the road, a site waits. Nobody owns that fleet as a full-time job today, so servicing happens when something breaks and the records sit across several spreadsheets and an accounting ledger. This role takes the fleet on properly, and picks up other operations work alongside it.
About the Group
Dyna started in 2002 with a single diesel genset for rent. The fleet grew, and long-term partnerships with telecommunications providers led us into hybrid, solar-hybrid and fully solar gensets. Today we operate gensets across Peninsular and East Malaysia, including remote regions and island sites, and we serve operators such as REDtone, UMobile, Maxis, CelcomDigi, TNB and SESB. We hold Suruhanjaya Tenaga Class A Electrical Contractor, CIDB G7 Unlimited and ISO 9001:2015 certifications.
Role Overview
- Own the nationwide vehicle fleet end to end, covering servicing, repairs, road tax, insurance and disposal
- Move the fleet from breakdown-driven repair onto a planned maintenance schedule
- Build the cost record that shows what each vehicle costs to run
- Run the vendor side: workshops, dealers, telematics providers and fuel suppliers
- Take on other operations tasks alongside the fleet remit
- Open to fresh graduates. The processes can be taught, and a genuine interest in vehicles is what the role is built on.
What You Will Do
Run the fleet
- Keep a live register of every vehicle, with plate, model, age, holder, base, and road tax and insurance renewal dates
- Set a preventive servicing schedule for each vehicle and hold the workshops to it
- Approve, track and file every workshop job, so every repair has a record
- Manage road tax, insurance renewals and motor claims across both regions
- Run the disposal and replacement pipeline, from valuation through trade-in offers to handover of sold units
Control the cost
- Reconcile workshop invoices against the ledger monthly and report the running cost per vehicle
- Flag any vehicle whose annual repair cost is approaching what it is worth
- Consolidate the workshop panel and negotiate standing rates
- Track fuel and mileage claims against actual vehicle use, and investigate what does not tally
Work the vendors
- Source and compare quotes from workshops, dealers and parts suppliers in Sabah and the Klang Valley
- Run the telematics rollout, from vendor selection through installation to the reporting it produces
- Hold vendors to agreed rates, turnaround times and warranty terms
Support wider operations
- Pick up procurement, delivery tracking and licence renewal work alongside the fleet remit
- Cover for other operations executives during leave and month-end billing peaks
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
- A real interest in vehicles. You follow cars, trucks or machinery for your own reasons, and you can talk about them.
- A valid driving licence, and willingness to travel between Sabah and the Klang Valley
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets, or quick to become so
- Malay and English, written and spoken
Good to Have
- Automotive knowledge: how an engine, a drivetrain or a hydraulic system works, and what a service interval is for
- A qualification in automotive, mechanical or a related engineering field
- Any exposure to workshops, commercial vehicles, logistics or operations administration
- Experience with a telematics or GPS tracking platform
- Familiarity with an accounting or ERP system for purchase orders and goods receipt
Who You Are
- Genuinely interested in vehicles. You already know what you would look at first on a truck with 200,000 km on it.
- Organised by instinct. You keep a record because you want to find the answer six months later.
- Persistent. A workshop that has gone quiet for four days hears from you on the fifth.
- Numerate. You are comfortable saying which vehicle costs the most, and showing the working.
- Direct. When a figure does not tally, you say so early.
What This Role Asks Of You
- Dyna has been operating since 2002 and is rebuilding its functions on new systems. The structure around this seat is incomplete, and the person in it helps decide what it becomes.
- There is no fleet process to inherit. The register, the servicing schedule and the cost report are yours to write, and then to work to.
- You will own whole problems and make decisions without a precedent to point at. You are the first person the company has had doing this job.
- What is expected in return is ownership of the outcome, and direct communication, including telling leadership when something is wrong.
- Read that honestly and decide whether it is the work you want.
Why Join Us
- A remit nobody has held before, with the register, the schedule and the vendor panel yours to build
- Time in the workshops and on site, so you learn the vehicles from the people who work on them
- Direct access to the leadership team, and decisions taken in days
- Work that shows up in a number: what the fleet costs to run, and what it costs after a year in your hands
- A company with more than two decades of operating history, still rebuilding how it runs
- Profit-sharing participation as part of the package
