A Pae Tukutuku is critical to the successful daily operation of the Māori Land Court and makes a huge positive difference in the lives of tangata whenua.

This position sits within the Tairāwhiti District (Gisborne), where we are involved with processing applications for Māori Land. The main part of this Pae Tukutuku role is to ensure the delivery of quality information and customer service relating to the timely progression of applications to the Court. A full and clean drivers licence is essential.

The role initially will be the first point of contact wherein you will be responsible for assisting with quality applications completed that are able to be progressed through the Pataka Whenua and dealing with enquires as they are made in person, via the website or email. You will also be required to assist with setting up the facilitation of our dispute resolution process, draft submissions and reports from the Court's records and conducting whakapapa research to determine ownership details.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience

To be successful in the role you will have a high capability and strong experience in customer service, both in front line and written capacities. With these strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to act with tact and discretion. We also need strong computer skills to go along with your written communication skills. Excelling in time management is a necessary requirement.

We are searching for someone who is looking to have time and training invested into them so that they may continue to pursue careers further within the Ministry of Justice.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

Salary Range: The appointing salary for this role will be between $60,729 and $80,794 based on skills and experience.
