Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and empathetic Patient Care Coordinator to support a US-based medical and behavioral health practice. Operating as a critical remote team member, you will support client coordination, insurance verification, scheduling, billing support, and core administrative workflows.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional phone communication skills, a deep understanding of US health insurance (including out-of-network benefits), and proficiency navigating EHR systems like Modernizing Medicine. You will act as a central bridge between patients, providers, billing teams, and third-party facilities to ensure a seamless healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Insurance Verification & Billing Support

  • Conduct comprehensive eligibility checks and benefits verifications prior to patient appointments.
  • Accurately interpret and explain complex insurance policies to clients, focusing on out-of-network benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, and network rules (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid).
  • Provide billing system support, managing financial data entry and guiding patients through cost-sharing details with clarity and approachability.

2. Patient Coordination & Telehealth Operations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact via phone, messaging, and video—delivering exceptional, warm, and professional patient care support.
  • Assist patients with telehealth setup, confirming visit readiness, and ensuring required onboarding forms and IDs are completed prior to appointments.
  • Route patient messages efficiently to appropriate clinical or administrative staff using designated workflows.

3. EHR Management & Administrative Support

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant patient records in Modernizing Medicine (EHR), including visit notes, lab orders, and care communications.
  • Manage multi-provider calendars, appointment scheduling, and task queues to maximize clinic efficiency and reduce care gaps.
  • Process medication refill requests, submit and track clinical referrals, and coordinate lab orders/results with external vendors and pharmacies.

Requirements

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years of direct experience in US Healthcare remote administration, insurance verification, or patient coordination (behavioral health or medical setting preferred).
  • Location: Must be based in Pakistan (Lahore or Islamabad preferred).
  • Education: Must Have a Psychology Degree
  • Schedule: Full-time availability aligned with US Business Hours (EST, CST, MST, or PST).

Core Knowledge & Hard Skills

  • US Insurance Expertise: Solid understanding of deductibles, coinsurance, OON benefits, prior authorizations, and standard ICD/CPT administrative references.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating Electronic Health Record systems (specifically Modernizing Medicine) alongside scheduling, CRM, and billing software.
  • Compliance: Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient data privacy standards.

Soft Skills

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal English (phone/video) and written communication skills with a warm, confident demeanor.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail in high-volume environments.
