Full Job Description
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processes for our clients. While prior payroll experience is not required, it would be highly beneficial. We are happy to train the right candidate on our payroll processes. The most critical requirement for this role is the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, as this is essential for serving our diverse client base.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, paid holidays, and vacation time.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data.
Update payroll records by entering changes to employee information or benefits, such as job title changes, exemptions, and saving deductions.
Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave, and non-taxable wages.
Calculate payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income taxes, social security tax, and unemployment, as well as calculating employer contributions for social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll inquiries.
Maintain all payroll operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Process and issue W-2 forms to employees.
Qualifications:
Fluency in Spanish is a bonus but not required
Prior experience with payroll is preferred but not mandatory; we are willing to train the right candidate.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills to interact with employees and clients.
Basic understanding of federal and state tax regulations is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; experience with payroll software is a bonus.
